- Download SharePoint 2013 Prerequisite Files. Posted on December 8, 2014 by Joe Waldin. Installing SharePoint 2013 with no internet access is a challenge.
- As part of the SharePoint 2013 setup, we need to install all the prerequisites by executing “prerequisiteinstaller.exe” before we run the FARM configuration wizard. AppFabric is one of the prerequisite to be installed. While I am executing the prerequisites setup file I got an error as “Windows Server AppFabric: Installation Error”.
Sharepoint 2013 Prerequisites Download Error Download
I had to rebuild my SharePoint VM and since it was virtualized no problem I thought as I’ve done this hundreds of times without problems. So reverted my vm to the bare bones VM and re-ran the Autospinstaller but to my surprise I had the following error message.
So I attempted to manually run the SharePoint Pre-requisite but that also failed so I was stuck so my next attempt was to download ALL of the prerequisites and install them before running the AutoSPInstaller again. So I referenced this url for all of the SharePoint 2013 prerequisites. To my surprise when I tried to download the Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime v1.0 SP1 (x64) from the list my IE browser returned an error message because it couldn’t reach download the file but I do have internet access. Weird!. This explains why the pre-requisite installer failed.

Then go back to the list of prerequisites and try to download the Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime v1.0 SP1 (x64) again. If successfully then re-run the SharePoint pre-requisites installer. I had to try this setting in IE several times. May have to switch from the Trusted sites and Local Internet. Not sure why.
